Benesch Clients, Partners Round Out Successful Year of Giving

Benesch employees donated more than $25,000 to various charitable causes throughout 2019—nearly all of which was matched by the company for a total of nearly $60,000. As in years past, $10,000 of that total was part of a special year-end donation driven by Benesch clients, partners and colleagues.

Each December, Benesch selects three charitable organizations to receive a special year-end donation from the company. In order to distribute donation dollars, Benesch invites our professional and personal contacts to share in the joy of giving by casting votes—with $1 for every vote—for the organization of their choice.

Based on the voting results, donations will be as follows:

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – $6,170.70

Shriners Hospitals for Children – $2,260.67

Bridges to Prosperity – $1,568.63

2019 in Review

Benesch’s employee-driven Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee facilitates a wide range of activities and initiatives across the company.

Summer of Service

Benesch’s fifth annual Summer of Service program saw participation from 130+ employees across the country. Their volunteer efforts ranged from environmental stewardship and working in food pantries to assisting with infrastructure renovations for neighborhoods and senior centers. Some employees donated time and money to their local humane societies while others teamed up for a day of used bicycle cleaning and sorting as part of a larger project to provide green transportation to people in need across the globe.

Food Drive

Benesch’s annual food drive yielded donations from 26 offices for a grand total of 19,353 needed items.

As part of our internship program, the company awarded one $1000 scholarship and four $500 scholarships to individual students who went above and beyond during their summers with Benesch. Our on-going scholarships through various universities totaled more than $20,000.

Benesch matched over $25,000 in employee donations in 2019. During the holiday season, six offices participated in adopt-a-family or other special programs, and more than $5,000 were donated by employees during Giving Tuesday—all matched by Benesch.

The work we do in planning, designing and constructing infrastructure serves a common purpose: improving the communities we share. Since its inception, Benesch’s CSR committee has established a wide range of corporate giving initiatives to further serve that purpose. Our passion for our communities drives Benesch to donate our time and talents to worthy causes that further connect us to the people we serve every day.
