Benesch employees came together to make a difference where they live and work via our annual Summer of Service program. Empowered by the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, offices partnered with organizations in their communities to coordinate a unique event and recruit staff, friends and family to participate. This month Benesch is closing out another successful Summer of Service season with 17 offices and approximately 267 volunteers completing service events.
“Each summer, I am increasingly impressed by our employees and their commitment to service,” said program organizer Emily Molloy. “The CSR committee works hard to provide service opportunities throughout the year and it’s encouraging to see so many employees participating.”
A Tradition of Service
Several Benesch offices have built long standing partnerships with organizations and return summer after summer to volunteer. In Glastonbury, CT, employees gathered friends and family to help clean up the Connecticut River, an activity they have been taking part in for years.
In Chicago, IL, staff continued their tradition of volunteering with Working Bikes, a non-profit organization that gives donated bicycles new life by redistributing them as tools of empowerment in local and global communities. The group helped to repair, pack and ship bikes to areas in need.
New Ways to Help
Other offices found new ways to get involved. Our Franklin and Nashville, TN staff came together to volunteer with Love on Wheels to pack suitcases filled with basic necessities for children entering the foster care system.
In Boston, MA a group of 16 volunteers headed to the West Street Urban Wild in Hyde Park where they removed non-native plants to improve accessibility for the community and create a better habitat for wildlife.
Beyond the work we do with our clients, our passion for our communities drives Benesch to donate our time and talents to worthy causes that further connect us to the people we serve every day. Since its inception, Benesch’s CSR Committee has established a wide range of corporate giving initiatives to help our employees do just that.
