Hydraulic Engineer
We’re looking for a Hydraulics Design Engineer to support the development of Transportation Projects. Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic culvert/bridge design, and permitting. The desired candidate can also develop erosion and sediment pollution control design plans, as well as abilities to supplement design efforts of the overall civil/highway group.
Location
This position will report to our Raleigh office at least 3 days a week. Other days will be worked remotely.
The Impact You Will Have
- Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects
- Perform stormwater management system and pond design
- Provide fieldwork assistance to verify existing site conditions
What You Will Need
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of technical design of transportation projects
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- PE required; ability to obtain North Carolina PE
- MicroStation, GEOPAK drainage, and HEC-RAS experience
- Experience developing deliverables per NCDOT standards and requirements (including BSR/CSR) is preferred
- Experience in erosion and sediment pollution control design (NCDOT Level III Certification a plus)
- Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design
- Working knowledge of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
- Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
