Transportation Group Manager – Omaha, NE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Group Manager in our Omaha, Nebraska, office. This is an experienced position involving challenging and complex assignments with opportunities for career growth. The ideal candidate will have good industry relationships with the Nebraska DOT and Omaha-Metro local agencies or a proven history of successful relationships with both DOT and local agency clientele. For this leadership position, strong business development, project, and people management skills are required.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the planning and design of roadway, highway, and multi-modal transportation networks. Typical candidates will have held leadership or project management positions providing multi-modal design, roadway/highway design, traffic engineering, transit planning, and/or comprehensive transportation planning services to public agency clients.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Collaborate and contribute to local, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives, including expansion of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and road and bridge design services within Nebraska, surrounding areas, and nationally.
- Lead efforts to expand our diverse, dynamic, Omaha-based group of transportation professionals.
- Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients.
- Pursue and manage complex, multi-discipline projects critical to local and regional transportation networks.
- Coordinate the technical and personal development of professional staff of all levels.
- Monitor project progress and budget for multiple project managers in the Omaha Transportation Group.
- Provide QA/QC on complex deliverables and reports.
- Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events and participate in professional organizations in leadership positions.
What You Will Need:
- S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related, with a License as a Professional Civil Engineer is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and coordinate professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-discipline project pursuit and delivery across multiple clients and geographies.
- Experience working with the Nebraska DOT and/or local agencies in highly populated areas preferred.
- Active involvement in professional organizations, including leadership positions, is preferred.
- Progressive experience and recognized skills towards providing transportation consulting services to local and state agencies.
- Strong written and oral communication and client relation skills required, with experience making presentations, attending conferences, and participating in project interviews preferred.
