Stormwater/Water Resources Project Manager
We are looking for a Stormwater Project Manager with experience successfully delivering a broad range of stormwater projects to support design of Transportation Projects our Florida Division. Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for transportation projects including hydrology and hydraulic analysis related to culverts sizing, open channel design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, storm sewer infrastructure design, and floodplain analysis. In this role you will contribute to a collaborative team environment. The desired candidate will supplement the design efforts of the civil/transportation and structural design group.
Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work and can work from our Jacksonville, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale or Miami office.
The Impact You Will Have
- Perform hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and design for transportation projects
- Prepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standards
- Assist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management and detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities and specifications
- Contribute to project goals and milestones, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress
- Oversee and assist in preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of stormwater design and planning projects
- Adhere to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking to ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents
- Champion relationships with key clients throughout Florida
- Contribute to other project work as a technical specialist or advisor as needed
- Market potential clients in coordination with Division and Group leadership
- Provide input into the growth of the practice
- Actively participate in the marketing process including proposal writing
- Lead strategic project pursuits for drainage projects
- Develop and manage scopes, schedules and staff hours for drainage related tasks and projects
- Contribute to Florida Division strategic growth initiatives
What You Will Need
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- 10+ years of transportation drainage experience preferred
- Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) License required (or obtain within 6 months of employment)
- A history of progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage design including:
- History of successfully managing projects, teams and delivering projects
- Experience with design and plan production coordination related to transportation and standalone drainage projects
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Track-record for adhering to design budgets and schedules through the effective utilization of technical drainage staff
- Strong analytical, reasoning, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and advance multiple projects simultaneously
- Thorough understanding of state, federal and regional design and regulatory standards
- Experience developing deliverables per FDOT standards and requirements (preferred)
- Experience with developing detailed floodplain studies and floodplain permitting for no-rise certifications (preferred)
- Solid understanding of FEMA technical requirements for CLOMR and LOMR submittals (preferred)
- Eagerness to mentor and train others
