Traffic and Safety Engineer in Training

Join our growing Traffic and Safety Engineering team as a Traffic and Safety Engineer in Training. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As an entry-level engineer, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations / documentation relating to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply!

Location

This position will report to our Jacksonville office 3-4 days a week. Other days will be worked remotely. 

The Impact You Will Have
  • Collect and assimilate data and perform analysis of traffic and safety-related operations projects
  • Develop traffic and safety engineering proposed solutions under direction of others
  • Develop improvement concept plans
  • Organize analysis to be included in reports to clientele, following agency standards
  • Perform field or site visits as needed
  • Willingness to work at client sites, under the supervision of clientele
  • Develop cursory knowledge of applicable standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, GIS, and Microsoft Office products is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Willingness to be adaptable to office and field tasks
  • The position will include the need to travel to project sites
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
  • Detailed, and organized individual who thrives in environments that are deadline driven
