Construction Engineering Group Manager – Illinois
We are looking to hire an experienced Construction Engineering Group Manager to be based in our Illinois Division. The position offers opportunities to work with local agencies and DOTs on a variety of complex projects involving construction phase services. The ideal candidates will be a licensed Professional Engineer and have experience in client development and pursuing, managing, and providing construction engineering services for public agencies, including IDOT, the Tollway, CDOT, counties, and municipalities.
The Impact You Will Have
- Manage and grow the Illinois Division Construction Management Group
- Manage project teams, accountable for staffing, budget, and schedule
- Contribute to local, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives within Illinois and other target areas
- Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients
- Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits
- Collaborate on regional growth strategy
- Mentor experiences Resident Engineers and Construction Project Managers
- Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
- Actively recruit, interview, and hire individuals who can contribute to the transportation practice in central Illinois and company-wide at a high level.
What You Will Need
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer licensure in Illinois with the ability to obtain other jurisdictions as appropriate for project assignments
- Excellent communication, business development, project management, and client relation skills
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills with a track record for understanding and adhering to contractual requirements
- Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and grow a dynamic team
- Progressive experience working directly with clients developing relationships, with proven ability to win work
- Demonstrated ability in project identification, pursuit, and contract development
- Experience working with Chicago Metro clients providing construction phase services, program evaluation, strategy selection, and overall program management
- Strong Understanding of Construction Project Administration, Observation, and Materials Testing, and Surveying practices
- Strong understanding of local and state project specifications, their application and typical interpretation
- High level of proficiency in overall project management including a demonstrated ability to manage, monitor, and maintain project budgets and deliver projects within Company financial goals and objectives
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act, Illinois Pay Transparency Law. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
