| The Alter Metal Recycling facility heavily relies on the nearby BNSF railway to export salvaged metal materials after they have been processed. Due to the poor condition of the existing BNSF railroad tracks, the client feared this system would be compromised.
Benesch led the design of this rail rehabilitation project, which entailed rail replacements, new turnouts, a bridge rehabilitation and track underdrains. Benesch also facilitated the bidding process, contractor selection and construction oversight. BNSF Railway reviewed and approved the project’s design plans. |
