This project consisted of the structural rehabilitation of two bridges (30 Total Spans), carrying mainline I-84 in the City of Hartford. Work generally consisted of concrete and steel repairs, resurfacing of the bridge deck, replacement of deck joints, and bridge drainage improvements. Localized painting was performed at the beam ends and elsewhere, as needed. Benesch conducted a full inspection of the existing structures and made provisions of LRFR load ratings for the As-Built, As-Inspected, and As-Rehabilitated conditions in accordance with the 2016 Load Rating Manual.
Services were provided under Benesch’s Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Task Order Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement Program contract.
