To ensure pedestrian safety through the SR 22/SR 145 Interchange project site, Benesch developed a conceptual temporary pedestrian structure and associated approach walkway. The pedestrian bridge’s main span is 115′ with a minimal vertical underclearance over SR 22 of 16′-6″. The bridge clear walkway width of 8′ meets applicable ADA requirements. The $330,000 temporary bridge was comparable to the cost of adding extra width into the proposed replacement bridge.
