City of Franklin

SR 96 Multi-Use Path

Franklin, TN

This 1.25-mile multi-use trail extension was constructed along the the City of Franklin’s suburban and urban boundary as part of a larger overall greenway plan. As lead designer, Benesch worked closely with the City and other stakeholders to mitigate impacts to local residents, schools and commercial properties along the project corridor.

Multiple alternatives were developed and reviewed during the early stages of design to achieve full ADA compliance and to coordinate with existing drainage and utility infrastructure. The chosen design used several typical sections to mitigate right-of-way needs along the corridor’s more urban areas.
