Benesch completed a wetland delineation on eight miles of US-18 in Lincoln County, South Dakota. Benesch prepared wetland delineation reports, functional classification, jurisdictional determination requests, calculated permanent and temporary impacts, and completed a mitigation needs assessment.
During field investigation, Benesch biologists identified 35 acres of wetlands. These wetlands were observed along stream channels, swales, isolated depressions and within US-18 road ditches. In addition, prairie potholes, riverine and slope wetlands were assessed with the Hydrogeomorphic Approach using established field protocols.
