Benesch completed 12 miles of wetland delineation on US Highway 46, including nine borrow sites in Yankton County, South Dakota. Benesch prepared wetland delineation reports, functional classification, cultural resources surveys, jurisdictional determination requests, calculated permanent and temporary impacts, and completed a mitigation needs assessment.
During field investigation, Benesch biologists identified 27 acres of wetlands. These wetlands were observed along stream channels, swales and within US Highway 46 road ditches. In addition, prairie potholes, riverine and slope wetlands were assessed with the Hydrogeomorphic Approach using established field protocols.
