SB US-31 Resurfacing Project Earns 2026 Concrete Award of Excellence
BERRIEN COUNTY, MI— The SB US-31 Resurfacing Project has earned a 2026 Concrete Award of Excellence in the Concrete Pavement Restoration category from the Michigan Concrete Paving Association. The project was recognized for improving roadway conditions and extending the service life of a 12-mile section of SB US-31 in Berrien County.
The project included 12 miles of concrete pavement repairs, hot mix asphalt (HMA) shoulder cold milling and resurfacing, maintenance of traffic and updated pavement markings. Additional improvements included concrete curb and gutter, culvert and drainage enhancements, guardrail, fencing, signing and pavement marking inspection along the corridor.
Serving as prime consultant, Benesch provided full construction engineering services, including project administration, inspection, quality assurance testing, reporting and documentation of quantities.
The award was presented February 19 at the Michigan Concrete Paving Association banquet.
