Scope of this Statement

Our website and services are designed for businesses and their representatives. We do not offer services for use by individuals for their personal, family or household purposes. Benesch is the controller of PII that we collect from visitors to our marketing website, (the “website”); from our own job applicants; and from our customers and vendors to help us manage our business relationships with them.

Personal Information we Collect

Benesch may collect the following information, including PII from and about you, for the following purposes:

    • To communicate with you. When you subscribe or register on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter PII such as your name, email address, phone number, etc.

    • When you apply for a job through our online career center, we collect information from you required in the context of your job application.

    • Third-party sources. We may combine PII we receive from you with PII we obtain from other sources, such as government agencies, public records, social media platforms and other publicly available sources.

    • Cookies, Scripts and Related Technologies. When you visit, we and our third-party service providers receive PII that you may have provided, such as your IP address. The technologies we use to track your movements around our website include cookies, tracking scripts and pixels, and tagging technologies, which we may employ to understand your preferences or improve your experience on our website, etc. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level.

How Benesch Uses Your PII

    • To provide, operate, improve and customize our website. We analyze data we collect about your use of the Website to improve your future experience with our website.

    • To process your job application. If you apply to work at Benesch, we will use the PII provided in the context of your application for the purposes of processing and evaluating the application.

    • For direct marketing and advertising. We may send you direct marketing communications.  You may opt-out of our marketing communications as described in the opt-out of marketing section below.

    • To comply with applicable laws, lawful requests and legal processes. We may use information we collect, including your PII, to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities; to protect our, your or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims); to audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements or our internal policies; to enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Service; and to prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft.

This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

How Benesch Secures Your Information

We care about the security of your PII and take steps, including implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures, to ensure that your PII is treated securely and in accordance with Privacy Statement. The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your PII.

How Long Does Benesch Retains Your PII

We retain PII we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your PII, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your PII has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your PII and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use PII from children under 13 years of age, and no part of our website is directed to children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with PII without your consent, you may alert us at If we learn that we have collected any PII from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.
