Alex Mooney leads Benesch’s Georgia Aviation group and has delivered aviation infrastructure projects for airports across the Southeast. In his role, he oversees the planning, design and construction of airport improvements while leading multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery. His expertise includes runway and taxiway rehabilitation, obstruction removal, drainage improvements and airfield lighting design, with a strong understanding of FAA standards and airport operations.
Alex works closely with airport owners, state aviation agencies and project stakeholders to deliver projects that support safety, operational efficiency and long-term airport development. His experience spans commercial service and general aviation airports, including projects funded through the FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). He has also helped airports pursue funding opportunities and navigate the planning and engineering requirements needed to advance critical infrastructure improvements.
