Darwin Schafer Lands on Railway Track & Structures’ 10 Under 40 List

NAPERVILLE, IL—Darwin Schafer, PE has been named one of Railway Track & Structures’ (RT&S) top 10 Under 40 for 2024. The list, which is published annually, celebrates the contributions of young railway engineers who “will lead the way to the future”.

Darwin is a Vice President and Rail Civil Group Manager at Benesch; he joined the company in 2012. Known for his effective leadership and expert technical skills, Darwin has contributed to numerous projects throughout his career, including several fast-tracked Class I railroad capacity expansions and more than 30 railroad intermodal and automotive terminals.

Darwin is also an accomplished researcher and has written several industry publications. In his role as Rail Civil Group Manager, he is also dedicated to nurturing the talent and expertise of the firm’s next generation of railroad engineering talent.
