Benesch is growing, and our North Carolina Structural team is looking for an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer ready to take the next step in their career as a Technical Manager. You’ll lead and contribute to the planning and design of transportation structures, serve as a technical resource for project teams, and mentor engineers as they develop their skills and careers.

Location
This position offers a hybrid work schedule based out of our Raleigh, NC office.
The Impact You’ll Have
- Lead and contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of transportation structures and bridge projects
- Serve as a technical leader and trusted resource for project teams and staff
- Provide technical direction on analysis, design approaches, software, assumptions, and project solutions
- Perform and review structural analysis and design while maintaining responsibility for quality and completeness
- Mentor and develop engineers by sharing technical knowledge and helping them grow their capabilities
- Partner with Project Managers to identify technical challenges, communicate progress, and keep projects moving
- Support quality control and ensure designs meet applicable standards, project requirements, and client expectations
- Provide technical expertise across a variety of projects and serve as a subject matter expert within the discipline
- Contribute ideas and expertise to help grow and strengthen the North Carolina Structural practice
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience with a transportation focus
- Advanced knowledge of structural engineering software, codes, standards, and design practices
- Proficiency in MicroStation
- Experience with 3D bridge modeling preferred
- Experience with Construction Engineering services preferred
- Proven ability to mentor and develop technical staff
- Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills
