Benesch Named Consultant of the Year by Kane County, IL
Kane County, IL – To alleviate traffic congestion and address anticipated growth in Algonquin, IL, the Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT) embarked on a project to extend and develop Longmeadow Parkway into a sophisticated, multi-modal corridor. As a result of work on two segments of the corridor construction and rehabilitation, Benesch has been named Phase 3 Consultant of the Year by KDOT.
“It’s been an honor to work with KDOT on this transformative project over the years,” said Project Manager Mark Molnar. “Receiving this recognition means a lot to the team, and we look forward to continuing to provide KDOT with exceptional service as work continues on the project.”
Due to the size of the project, it was split into several individual contracts, two of which Benesch was selected to provide construction management services for. These sections of the project included the construction of new 4-lane PCC roadways, the reconstruction and widening of IL Rte. 62, the realignment of a 2-lane local road with a new roundabout, a steel-beam bridge, multi-use path, and new traffic signals and interconnect. Both sections required special attention to be paid to erosion and sediment control because of the sensitive environment and proximity to the Fox River.
At Kane County’s Transportation Committee meeting in December, Assistant Director Steve Coffinbargar presented Benesch with the award and noted that Benesch’s passion and dedication has been both remarkable and refreshing for the County.
