Ed Baumann Appointed to ACEC/MA Board of Directors
BOSTON, MA — Following a long history of involvement with the organization, Benesch Structural Group Manager Ed Baumann has been selected to serve on the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) Board of Directors. As a voting member of the board, Ed will support the association’s mission to assist members in providing quality consulting engineering services.
“I am both honored and excited to be joining such a talented group. I look forward to finding new ways to serve our members and the industry as a whole,” said Baumann.
Baumann credits the ACEC/MA with helping him realize that, as an engineer, he is an ambassador for the industry. After completing their Emerging Leaders program in 2005, he learned how he could use his voice to advocate for public projects that maintain safety and improve the quality of life for people in his community.
In 2012, Baumann was asked to join the ACEC/MA Leadership Education Committee, eventually becoming co-chair. Through the committee, he has been able to show fellow engineers how the combination of technical, business development and communication skills improve not only their career but people’s perception of the consulting engineering industry.
“When I first joined the committee, I was excited to help future engineering leaders develop the business and communications skills necessary to succeed in this profession,” said Baumann. “I plan to bring that same excitement and dedication to my new role with the organization.”
Baumann is particularly eager to engage with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum; Government Affairs Committee; and STEM Outreach Committee.
