Highway Project Manager 

Benesch is seeking to hire a Project Manager. In this position, you'll step into a first-level management role with guidance from Senior Leaders. This position entails supervising and training staff alongside continued project management training. Your responsibilities will include organizing and directing projects and ensuring their successful completion within scope, schedule, and budget parameters. 

As a Project Manager, your leadership and oversight will ensure the successful execution of civil engineering projects. Your ability to manage resources effectively, resolve conflicts, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards will directly contribute to project success and client satisfaction. 

Location 

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Glastonbury, CT office.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium highways and local roads engineering projects or be a task lead on complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects
  • Plan and prepare scope of services/fee proposals
  • Independently coordinate work of engineers and designers and balance staffing needs throughout entire project’s development
  • Support marketing efforts, including identifying potential opportunities and supporting pursuit proposal and interview efforts
  • Support the growth and development of transportation engineers, EITs and designers through mentoring and project assignments
  • Plan and monitor workload needs throughout the entire project development to fully meet project needs
  • Serve as the primary client liaison to successfully complete a project to the client’s satisfaction and build effective client relationships
  • Proactively track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work efforts with the team as needed to provide on-schedule and on-budget project delivery
  • Work with Branch Manager, Group Managers, Project Managers for project reviews
What You Will Need
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed PE in the state of CT or planning to obtain licensure within one year
  • Minimum of years 8-12 relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of task lead/project management experience for highways and local roads engineering projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
  • Experience in marketing including preparing presentations and technical proposals
  • Experience in pursuit and development of alternative delivery projects
  • ConnDOT and local agency experience and relationships
  • Model-based digital delivery experience in Bentley (MicroStation, Open Roads)
  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or business a plus

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Connecticut Pay Transparency Laws. See below links. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
