Senior Executive Recruiter -  Civil Engineering & Transportation Infrastructure

Benesch is seeking a highly driven Senior Executive Recruiter to support strategic hiring efforts focused on senior-level engineering and leadership talent across our national engineering teams. This is not a traditional corporate recruiting role. We are looking for a true headhunter with deep experience recruiting within the civil engineering, A/E/C, and professional services industry who understands how to identify, engage, and close passive talent in a highly competitive market.

This role will partner directly with Division Managers, operational leadership and Talent Acquisition leadership to build proactive talent pipelines, strengthen market presence, and position Benesch as a destination employer within the engineering consulting industry. The ideal candidate brings urgency, persistence, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to recruit high-performing technical professionals through relationship-driven recruiting and direct sourcing strategies.

Benesch is offering a competitive range of $165,000 to $200,000, depending on experience, along with the opportunity to participate in our bonus program based on individual and business performance.

Location

Our Talent Acquisition team is based in Chicago and operates in a collaborative hybrid environment. This role offers the flexibility to work from any Benesch office location while remaining closely connected to our national recruiting strategy and business leadership teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 10+ years of recruiting experience within the engineering, A/E/C, or professional services industry required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience within a high-volume, high-performance agency recruiting environment required
  • Proven success in recruiting senior-level engineering and leadership talent within the civil engineering consulting industry
  • Strong cold calling and direct sourcing experience with demonstrated success in engaging passive candidates
  • Deep understanding of engineering consulting structures, technical disciplines, and infrastructure markets
  • Highly proactive, persistent, and results-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Experience developing and managing long-term talent pipelines across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Strong communication, relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, and sourcing tools
  • Ability to travel for industry conferences, networking events, and business-related recruiting activities as needed #LI-MM1

 

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act, Illinois Pay Transparency Law. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
