Traffic Project Engineer
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Transportation team. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a project engineer, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations / documentation relating to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic and safety and comprehensive knowledge of local and MassDOT standards.
Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Boston office.

- Create and execute project work plans
- Manage project analysis and deliverables
- Work in a collaborative environment, with team members, senior staff, and external clients
- Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
- Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
What We Are Looking For
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 4 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation and traffic engineering experience
- Licensed PE in the state of MA or planning to obtain licensure within one year
- PTOE License is a plus!
- Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities. Previous MassDOT experience preferred
- Progressive experience with developing plans analysis and reports per MassDOT standards and requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Advanced use of project-specific software such as CADD, Synchro, GIS, SIDRA, HCS, Vissim, etc.
- Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act . The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
