We have an exciting career opportunity for an Office Manager to lead our growing Civil and Structures teams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in developing teams, business development, and PennDOT/PA Turnpike project development and delivery.
Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Pittsburgh office.
The impact you will have
- Demonstrate Group Manager level of competency and responsibility.
- Assure that assigned technical staff within office are assigned to billable projects. Report availability of staff members to Division Manager.
- Assure that Project Managers within office are meeting quality, budget and schedule requirements. Report any deviations to the Division Manager.
- Review and verify project status reports, project monitor reports and project staffing reports prior to submittal to Division Manager.
- Review and verify documentation for out-of-scope work prepared by Project Mangers prior to submittal to Division Manager.
- Provide strong leadership to foster and enhance a culture of safety within the office.
- Review and verify scopes of work, budgets and schedules prepared by Project Managers prior to submittal to Division Manager.
- Verify implementation of TQE® guidelines by Project Managers.
- Assure that Project Managers perform all other contract management duties.
- Complete professional development plans for assigned staff and submit to Division Manager with recommendations for salary adjustments, promotions, or other actions.
- Review and verify indirect expense reports for the office prior to submittal to Division Manager.
- Plans, staffs and supervises all office activities including personnel, administration, professional development plans, business development and operations, defining functions, responsibilities of staff, etc. consistent with the Division Manager’s direction and vision
- Develop comprehensive business development plans for Western PA for various transportation clients such as; PennDOT, PA Turnpike, counties, municipalities, and transit agencies.
- Supervise the development of proposals in pursuit of projects for various Transportation clients in western PA.
What we are looking for
- Minimum of 15 years of experience relating to supervision of engineering staff, project management, business development, or any other combination of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or Landscape Architecture.
- License required for engineers and landscape architects.
- Master’s degree or certification preferred in related field for non-engineers.
- Member of professional and technical societies expected.
