Mike Gorman to Receive ACEC/Nebraska Charles Durham Achievement Award

The ACEC/NE Board of Directors is honoring Benesch’s Mike Gorman, PE as the 2018 recipient of the prestigious Charles Durham Achievement Award. The award recognizes Mike’s significant contribution to the engineering profession through his leadership in ACEC/NE, professional societies and community service organizations. Mike has been an active member of ACEC/NE for more than 20 years, serving as President in 2005-2006 and on the Board of Directors 1999-2005.

Mike started his career at the Iowa Department of Transportation after receiving his Construction Engineering degree from Iowa State University. While at the Iowa DOT, he was drawn to the relatively fast pace and human element of traffic engineering and transportation planning, making it his professional focus. Before moving to the private sector, he held other public sector engineering positions for the City of Casper, Wyoming and City of Omaha.

Mike currently serves on Benesch’s Board of Directors and is an Executive Vice President and the Great Plains Regional Manager. He oversees all business development and operations in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Colorado.

The award will be presented at the Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 22, 2018.
