GRI's Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility

GRAND ISLAND, NE — A newly completed Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility is the latest project completed as part of the Central Nebraska Regional Airport’s (GRI) on-going capital improvements. Strategically located within the airport property to provide the best response rates for emergency vehicles, the facility is home to GRI’s brand new Oshkosh Striker 4×4 firetruck and was designed with future expansion in mind.

The $3.1 million ARFF facility was completed on time and within budget, despite unforeseen project site conditions which required change orders at the start of construction.

Airport Improvement magazine interviewed members of the project team to get the full scoop. Check out the article here.
