Steve Drechsler Elected ACEC-CT President
GLASTONBURY, CT – Connecticut Division Manager Steve Drechsler has been elected as the American Council of Engineering Companies Connecticut Chapter (ACEC-CT) Board President. Steve first took a leadership role in the organization in 2016 as co-chair of the Emerging Leaders group and went on to join the executive committee as treasurer. Steve’s appointment to president was announced in late June at the organization’s annual meeting.
“I’m excited to start my two-year term as ACEC President and continue to serve the organization to the best of my abilities,” said Drechsler. “It’s been a wonderful journey to becoming president and I am proud to say that the entire executive committee now consists of members of the Emerging Leaders group I initially co-chaired.”
As president, Steve will work with the committee to set the agenda for the coming year and preside over monthly meetings. He will also continue his work with the CTDOT Liaison Committee.
Drechsler joined Benesch in 2012 and has over 24 years of experience in structural engineering, leading bridge design projects across the state of Connecticut and beyond. He is an accomplished engineer and project manager with numerous successful projects to his credit, including dozens of bridge designs, several historic bridge rehabilitations, bridge safety inspection contracts and roadway corridor safety projects. In his current role, he leads the business development and operations of Benesch’s Connecticut Division.
