Benesch Welcomes Steve Lorek as Railroad Division Manager

CINCINATTI, OH — Benesch announces Steve Lorek, PE as the firm’s next Railroad Division Manager.

Steve comes to Benesch with over 22 years of experience in the management and delivery of various railroad infrastructure projects for the Class I railroads, short lines, regional railroads, public agencies and private industry. His background includes railroad inspection, track and bridge assessment, asset management, crossing safety, construction management and maintenance programming.

Steve’s portfolio includes projects such as representing CSX on the development of a high speed rail line from Washington, D.C. to Richmond, VA; Program Manager for the Louisville and Indiana Railroad’s Track Upgrade program; and Field Assessment Manager for the MTA in New York City responsible for assessing their Rockaway Branch Line after Superstorm Sandy.

As Railroad Division Manager, Steve will continue to grow the firm’s national practice in railroad engineering. He brings trusted relationships spanning nearly every major railroad and has a reputation for working to improve project delivery efficiencies by leveraging technology.
