John Carrato Named ACEC Research Institute Chair

CHICAGO, IL — Benesch President and Chief Executive Officer John Carrato has been selected as the first Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Research Institute.

Announced earlier today, the newly formed ACEC Research Institute replaces the Council’s former Research and Management Foundation and provides expanded thought leadership capabilities in relation to industry trends and analysis.

“The engineering industry is at the forefront of designing solutions to some of the biggest challenges we face as a society,” says Mr. Carrato. “From emerging technologies that are changing the way we work, to global issues like climate change, engineers lead the way. We need to quantify benefits we deliver and analyze the challenges we face. The ACEC Research Institute will do just that.”

Mr. Carrato is also a Vice Chair on the ACEC Executive Committee and previously served as President and National Director for ACEC-Illinois. Additionally, he has served on numerous state and national committees and is an ACEC Fellow. He is also a member of the Design Professionals Coalition.

ACEC membership and involvement has been a high priority at Benesch for years with many Benesch employees providing leadership for Member Organizations across the country.
