Theresa DeAngelo Named MASITE’s 2025 Committee Member of the Year
MACUNGIE, PA—Benesch Project Engineer Theresa DeAngelo has been named Committee Member of the Year by the Institute of Transportation Engineers Mid-Atlantic Section (MASITE). The award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their committee work, active participation in section activities and meetings, and a long-standing commitment to advancing the goals of the organization.
Theresa first became involved with ITE in 2021 when a former Benesch colleague encouraged her to join. Since then, she has contributed to MASITE, the Mid-Colonial District (MCDITE) and ITE International through several roles, including serving on the Traffic Bowl and Registration Committees, the International Social Committee and as Co-Chair for the 2025 MASITE Annual meeting in Macungie, Pennsylvania.
Through these experiences, Theresa has built meaningful professional relationships that have strengthened her work at Benesch. “Developing relationships with other professionals in our industry opens opportunities for strategic partnerships, streamlines collaboration and generally makes us better engineers,” Theresa said. “There have been several projects I’ve worked on now where my worlds have collided, and those existing connections have led to more collaborative, solution-driven outcomes for our clients and the communities we serve.”
Theresa credits ITE not only for expanding her network but also for deepening her technical knowledge through conferences, webinars and ongoing knowledge sharing among peers. She encourages others to get involved in professional organizations, noting that these experiences help engineers grow their skills, build valuable connections and gain fresh perspectives that enhance their work.
Theresa received the award on September 29 during the 2025 MASITE Annual Meeting.
