WILKES-BARRE, PA—Benesch Senior Project Manager Dominic Yannuzzi, PE, has been named the 2025 National Robert E. Pearson/Person of the Year by the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). This prestigious award honors individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on the transportation industry.

Over his 35-year career, Dominic has led numerous large-scale highway projects exceeding $100 million, helping to improve mobility and strengthen infrastructure across Pennsylvania. He also served six years on the Lackawanna-Luzerne Transportation Study Coordinating Committee, where he was Co-Chairman and a member on the Focus-81 Committee for I-81 at NEPA Alliance. Additional roles include serving on the Executive Board of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and chairing its Transportation Committee from 2005 to 2012.

Dominic continues to support his community as Chairman of the Luzerne County Flood Protection Authority, where he works to protect lives, infrastructure and property, and as President of Greater Hazleton Senior Citizens Services, Inc., where he advocates for transportation networks that meet the needs of local seniors. He also leads six annual scholarship programs—including three permanent endowments—benefiting engineering students at Penn State University, Wilkes University, King’s College, Villanova University, Drexel University and Lafayette College.
