Ed Baumann Named Next Massachusetts Division Manager
BOSTON, MA — Benesch is pleased to announce Ed Baumann, PE, VMA as the firm’s next Massachusetts Division Manager.
With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Ed’s commitment to high quality client-focused deliverables has been invaluable to the growth of our structural practice in Massachusetts. Ed came to Benesch in 2012 via our acquisition of Purcell Associates, where he began his career in 1994.
For the last several years, Ed has served as the Massachusetts Division’s Structural Group Manager. He is an accomplished structural engineer and project manager with dozens of successful bridge designs, bridge load ratings and bridge and tunnel inspections for MassDOT, MassPort, MBTA, City of Boston and many other municipalities throughout Massachusetts to his credit.
Notable projects from Ed’s career include the $176M replacement of the iconic North Washington Street Bridge, now under construction over the Boston Inner Harbor; the $85M painting and repairs to the Braga Bridge carrying I-195 over the Taunton River in Fall River and Somerset, MA; and the $28M Route 128 Add-A-Lane – Bridge I contract in Canton and Dedham, MA, which included bridge replacements over University Avenue, AMTRAK and the Neponset River.
Outside of Benesch, Ed is a member of ACEC/MA where he serves on the Board of Directors and is also co-Chair of the Leadership Education Committee. As a member of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (BSCES), he has been involved in outreach efforts to bring middle and high school students into STEM fields.
