Cabarrus County Master Plan Update

Cabarrus County is one of North Carolina’s most rapidly changing counties, with a rapidly growing population. The County is quickly transitioning from a rural county to an urban county. The purpose of this County Master Plan Update was to identify county park and recreation needs and identify specific recommendations for meeting those needs.

An important aspect of the planning process was working with other recreation providers and community partners to identify partnership opportunities. Benesch helped guide a Steering Committee of 25 stakeholders in the development of this Master Plan.

The focus of the Master Plan was to develop specific recommendations to improve parks and recreation facilities that are realistically achievable in the current economic climate. This planning approach required engagement and commitment from many agencies and organizations.
