Logan International Airport Bridge Inspections
Benesch performed routine inspections for 18 structures for the Massachusetts Port Authority at Logan International Airport in Boston.
This contract included the inspection of 22 bridge structures at Logan Airport as well as 29 overhead sign structures. Many of the inspected bridge structures are post-tensioned cast-in-place cellular concrete box girders that required confined space entry to perform the inspection. Traffic control to allow for the inspection of the bridge and sign structures along the loop road and arrival and departure ramps at Logan International Airport required detailed traffic management plans for each location.
Bridge and Sign Inspections were completed in accordance with the Federal Highway Administration, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and Massport requirements.
