Benesch Named Employer of the Year by WTS Greater Chicago Chapter

CHICAGO, IL—Benesch has been named the 2025 Employer of the Year by the WTS Greater Chicago Chapter. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate a sustained commitment to advancing women in the transportation industry through inclusive hiring practices, professional development initiatives and ongoing support for WTS.
As an Executive Partner of the Greater Chicago Chapter and a sponsor of five additional chapters across the country, Benesch plays an active role in furthering the WTS mission. More than 25 Benesch employees are engaged as members nationwide, with several holding leadership roles and serving on committees.
In the Greater Chicago Chapter, Amber DeCarlo contributes to the Membership and Recognitions Committees, Molly Lazar is involved in Membership, Recognitions and Policy, and Stephanie Abezetian serves as Co-Chair of the Recognitions Committee. Jill Hayes has previously chaired the Professional Development Committee and served as a Scholarship Judge. At the international level, five additional Benesch employees serve on chapter boards. Active participation in WTS has allowed Benesch staff to build their networks and grow their careers through meaningful industry engagement.
The recognition also highlights Benesch’s efforts to support women at all stages of their careers—from interns to executive leaders. Mentorship programs, leadership development initiatives and clearly defined career paths promote continued professional growth at Benesch. Internal groups such as the Women’s Employee Resource Group and Work Life Focus Team also contribute to a more inclusive workplace culture.
Benesch is also committed to supporting the next generation of industry professionals, with nearly half of its 2024 intern class made up of women. Interns are encouraged to explore different career paths within the industry and are supported through scholarships, mentorship and hands-on project experience.
Benesch was recognized at the 2025 Awards Banquet on May 1 at the University Club of Chicago.
