Max Beedle Named Young Civil Engineer of the Year by ASCE Lehigh Valley Section

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA—Benesch Project Engineer Max Beedle has been named the 2024 Young Civil Engineer of the Year by the Lehigh Valley Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (LV-ASCE). The award recognizes Max’s professional achievements, dedication to mentoring the next generation of engineers and active contributions to the civil engineering community.
Since joining Benesch in 2019, Max has played a key role in the design of several complex bridge rehabilitation projects across the greater Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia regions. His role on these projects included steel and precast concrete design under staged construction, as well as the development of detailed construction schedules using accelerated bridge techniques.
Beyond his project work, Max serves as the Safety Chairperson for Benesch’s Lehigh Valley office, helping ensure safe practices both in the office and out in the field. He also participates in student outreach activities through his role as a Practitioner at Lehigh University, where he represents Benesch at career fairs and engages with engineering students exploring the profession.
Max is actively involved in ASCE and currently serves on the LV-ASCE board as Member Director. His involvement with ASCE began in 2014 as a student at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was an active member of the student chapter and the Steel Bridge Team, serving as team captain for one year. He also served as president of the Fritz Engineering Research Society.
Max received the Young Civil Engineer of the Year award during the LV-ASCE Annual Awards Banquet on April 16.
