NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA — The Bath Borough Authority (BBA) is a sewer and water provider that services Bath Borough and parts of East Allen and Upper Nazareth Townships in Pennsylvania. Constructed in 1964, the wastewater treatment plant had exceeded its useful life and was in constant need of repair. Due to its poor condition, the BBA opted to construct a new treatment plant and enlisted Benesch to design the replacement.

Benesch Senior Project Manager Chris McCoach, PE shared details with the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association (PRWA) about the various systems integrated into the new wastewater treatment plant. The new treatment plant maximizes efficiency, accounts for weather events and reduces man-hours required for maintenance, all while significantly reducing energy costs.
