Each year, Benesch’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee facilitates a wide range of activities and initiatives to give employees the chance to improve the communities where they live and work. 2022 was no different as employees came together to donate their time, money and expertise to causes across the country.

Contributions included a special end-of-year donation driven by Benesch clients, partners and colleagues. Benesch offices selected three charitable organizations to receive a portion of a $10,000 donation. To help distribute the funds, Benesch invited our professional and personal contacts to share in the joy of giving during the holiday season by casting votes for the organization of their choice.

At the start of the New Year, votes were tallied and the donations were as follows:

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – $4,000

  • Jumbled Dreams – $3,500

  • Shriners Children’s Chicago – $2,500

Other ways in which employees and the company participated in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in 2022 are highlighted below:

Community Service

The CSR committee challenged each Benesch office to volunteer as many community service hours as they could throughout the year. In total, our offices volunteered 3,691.5 hours, with our Allentown office contributing the most.

As a part of our annual Summer of Service program, Benesch staff participated in 17 service events in local communities across the country.

Giving Back

In November, Benesch hosted a food drive for the tenth year in a row. With a little healthy competition between offices, Benesch was able to provide 31,652 items to local food banks. Our Tennessee offices contributed the most and were rewarded with an office pizza party and the opportunity to pick two of our end-of-year giving recipients. They selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Jumbled Dreams.

In addition to the end-of-year donation, Benesch supported organizations throughout the year. In response to the crisis in Ukraine, we donated $10,000 to Doctors without Borders to support relief efforts. Another $30,000 was donated throughout the year to other organizations our staff partnered with on local causes.

Benesch employees utilized the gift-matching program to help their giving go even further. Employees donated a total of $29,702.88 to charitable organizations, all matched by Benesch. Additionally, three employees utilized Benesch’s “Dollars for Doers” program. By volunteering 50 hours to an organization, they earned a $500 donation from Benesch.

Supporting Future Leaders

Benesch’s Summer Internship Program integrates students into the company. They work on projects, interface with leadership and experience our culture. At the end of the summer, interns are encouraged to apply for a scholarship through the CSR committee. Benesch awarded 25 $1,000 scholarships to individual student interns who went above and beyond during their summers with Benesch.

The work Benesch does serves a common purpose: improving the communities we share. Since its inception, Benesch’s CSR Committee has established corporate giving initiatives to further serve that purpose. Our passion for our communities drives Benesch to donate our time and talents to worthy causes that connect us to the people we serve every day.
