11th Street Water Main Replacement
Benesch’s water services team incorporated a design to replace an existing six-inch water main within the project limits as part of a larger roadway design project. In addition, Benesch performed construction administration and observation services.
The 1,700 linear feet of water main was replaced with a 12-inch main constructed with C900 pipe complying with City of Nebraska City water main standards and details. Fire hydrants were installed on each side of the road and spaced at approximately 500-foot intervals. The existing eight-inch water main running east-west was tied into the proposed main.
Water main taps were identified for all existing active services. Tracer wires were also included. All work was coordinated with proposed storm sewer and other underground utilities located within the corridor.
