Progress Parkway

Village of Schaumburg | Schaumburg, IL
roadway improvement

Progress Parkway is a fitting name for the new roadway built to serve a new 225-acre, multi-use development that is symbolic of the economic progress happening in the Village of Schaumburg. This new development, known as the Veridian Campus, is located on the old Motorola campus bordered by I-90, Algonquin Road and Meacham Road. The campus plan includes residences, office space, dining, a hotel, entertainment venues, and urban-style street retail districts.

To accommodate the area’s projected growth and traffic, the Village needed to build a connector road connecting Algonquin Road and Meacham Road. The new roadway, now called Progress Parkway, includes 0.75 miles of new roadway pavement, new street lighting, drainage improvements, a multi-use path, intersection improvements and more.

Benesch provided construction engineering services throughout the course of the improvements. The Benesch Team was responsible for reviewing contract documents, tracking the contractor’s progress, documenting contract quantities, and preparing as-built drawings. Benesch also assisted in coordinating work efforts between multiple construction projects in the vicinity and was in frequent communication with the Village and the developer to ensure that the work ran smoothly.

Progress Parkway now successfully serves as a main thoroughfare to what will become a new economic hub for the Village and a popular destination for Chicago’s northwest suburbs and beyond.
