Ryan Jacox Named President of ITE Great Lakes District
CHICAGO, IL—Benesch Project Manager Ryan Jacox, PE, PTOE, RSP1, has assumed the role of President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Great Lakes District for 2026. As an active member of ITE since 2007, Ryan brings nearly two decades of involvement and service to the position.
Ryan was elected to the Great Lakes District Board in 2021 and has since held several leadership roles, including Director, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. Over the past year as Vice President, he chaired the district’s Awards and Recognition Committee and coordinated the district-level awards program, with many submissions advancing to ITE International for consideration. His experience also includes numerous leadership positions within the Illinois Section, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how ITE operates at the district, section and chapter levels.
Ryan’s involvement at the district level has broadened his professional network by connecting him with peers across the region and beyond. “Engaging with professionals outside my local area has given me valuable insight into how transportation challenges are approached in different contexts and regions, as well as how ITE functions at various levels throughout the organization,” said Ryan. “Building and strengthening these connections has been both professionally and personally rewarding.”
As President, Ryan will help guide the overall coordination and communication of the Great Lakes District Board and play a key role in planning the district’s annual meetings. Ryan remains focused on providing value to members, with particular emphasis on supporting students and young professionals.
Ryan’s appointment reflects his long-standing commitment to professional leadership and collaboration within the transportation industry. In his new role, he looks forward to supporting ITE members and advancing the organization’s mission throughout the Great Lakes District.
