City of Waverly | Waverly, NE
Waverly Watershed Masterplan

Benesch undertook a comprehensive project encompassing multiple tasks to enhance flood mitigation and stormwater management for the City. The project included a meticulous review of FEMA flood insurance map revisions, involving hydrologic and hydraulic model assessments.

A detailed Citywide stormwater drainage map and inventory were created, cataloging all stormwater facilities. Tailored stormwater design criteria were developed, and watershed basin studies were prioritized. Rigorous hydrologic and hydraulic analyses informed alternative improvement recommendations.

The culmination was a comprehensive Watershed Master Plan, outlining strategies for flood mitigation and stormwater management. Benesch also played a key role in organizing and facilitating three public information meetings to engage the community.

The project’s success lies in its strategic approach, informed decision-making, and active community involvement, ultimately bolstering the City’s flood resilience and stormwater management capabilities.
