Holy Trinity Montessori School
To accommodate increasing enrollment and future demand, Holy Trinity Montessori School began the process of evaluating land to design, build and relocate their existing school to a new campus. Holy Trinity purchased a wooded, picturesque 38-acre tract of land along Highway 100 near the Natchez Trace Parkway. Holy Trinity desired to develop the site into a modern, functional school that incorporated nature areas into the design and construction of the three-school building, totaling 14,000 square feet, as well as the curriculum for the 100+ students.
Holy Trinity engaged Benesch to examine the suitability of the land for purchase. Numerous challenges, including the site’s topography and soil conditions, were encountered during the review. Despite the presented challenges, Holy Trinity decided to proceed with the project and enlisted Benesch to provide design and construction administration services.
Subsurface restraints required Benesch to develop a unique interpretive report to give recommendations for foundation design and construction. The design included the installation of a precast arch-bridge culvert to span a jurisdictional waterway, stormwater detention pond and upstream infrastructure, waterline extension and tap of an existing 20-inch transmission main, easement acquisition, coordination for Nashville Electrical Service, as well as a commercial septic sewage disposal system for 150 student capacity.
