Ridge Road Middle School

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools chose Benesch for the civil and site design of a two-story, 130,000-square-foot, 1,200-student middle school building. The project included all site water and sewer design, a parking lot for approximately 185 cars, storm water quality design, and offsite road improvements including turn lanes surrounding the project site.

The project also included several athletic fields, including a 400-meter six-lane track with a football field, a 325-foot baseball field, a 225-foot softball field and a 195-foot x 330-foot soccer field. This project is an expansion of the existing 52-acre Highland Creek Elementary School campus previously designed by Benesch. The two schools co-exist on the same property and share the bus parking lot, soccer field, and storm water quality ponds.
