Palisades Park Elementary School

Benesch worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools to develop this new elementary school campus. The overall 100+ acre campus was master planned for both the now-existing elementary school and a future high school. The fourth leg of an existing three-way intersection was developed as the primary school signalized access and planned as a future public road connecting to the neighboring subdivision. Improvements on NC Highway 49 included a right turn lane into the new school, a 300-foot dual left turn into the school access, related storm drainage, striping and sidewalks, as well as a separate entrance to the elementary school for bus access.
