Determining infiltration and/or inflow (I/I) problems is critical to ensuring efficient and effective sanitary sewer system functioning. Benesch is accomplished at leading comprehensive studies that identify the root of I/I problems, whether they are open sewer joints, open manhole wall joints, cracks in sewer pipe, cracks in
manhole walls or service connection issues.

Following these studies, our teams will make recommendations for any follow-up work including Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) and any rehabilitation work.

Benesch works daily with clients to maintain compliance with NPDES discharge limits and other permitting requirements. We represent our clients in national and state consent decrees/consent orders and have a proven track record in assisting our clients through the arduous compliance process. In Kansas City, KS, as part of the overall $800 million Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Abatement Program, Benesch developed a series of projects aimed at eliminating combined sewer overflow points within the Jersey Creek watershed. Maximizing Biosolids Reuse

Our comprehensive biosolids management services are focused on maximizing the reuse potential of your community’s biosolids.

We can evaluate your wastewater treatment facility and will propose a biosolids treatment management plan. This can include disposal and reuse options that utilize a variety of options including thickening, stabilization, dewatering, composting, drying, incineration and land application. We can also help develop odor control solutions to minimize impacts of biosolids treatment facilities.

Hydraulic Modeling

Having developed, calibrated and performed alternative analysis on dozens of projects with Infoworks, we’re prepared to tackle your project modeling needs.

We have used the model for combined sewer analysis for sewer separation projects and sanitary sewer capacity studies, many of which required model calibration based on flow metering, the inclusion of I/I parameters, pump stations, weirs, gates and real time controls.
