Benesch worked with Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) – Northeast on numerous campus improvements. These projects have resulted in significant changes to over half of the hospital’s 60-acre main campus. While many of the projects were building expansions (Medical Arts Building, Emergency Department, Clinical Services Building), others were more site-related (new Hospital entrance, renovations to the Memorial Garden, Children’s Garden, master landscape plan, and patient, visitor and staff parking decks). These improvements resulted in a significantly renovated campus with new vehicular and pedestrian entrances, new streetscape improvements, and a variety of outdoor spaces for visitors, patients, and staff.

Patient care begins when a patient enters the campus. Benesch has worked with CMC-Northeast to create quiet seating areas and landscape amenities that reduce stress and provide a positive distraction to what can be a stressful experience.
