Following Benesch recommendations in City’s updated Water System Master Plan, Benesch was further contracted to design and construct Phase 1 water system improvements. The project addressed current and future water demands for the City over the next 20 years.
The first phase totaled $11 million and included:
- Design and installation of a new 3.0 MG elevated storage tank
- 11,700 LF of 16-inch transmission main
- Rehabilitation work at the existing booster station
- Rehabilitation work at the existing 300,000-gallon storage tank
In addition, Phase 1 included the following improvements at the existing booster station:
- New pumps and motors
- A new motor control center to replace the old and obsolete unit
- Replacement of a faulty flowmeter
